This beautiful artwork, by P. Veronese, shows the Roman Centurion, kneeling before Jesus Christ and begging the Savior to heal his servant. The painting appears to have been inspired by the Centurion's words, recounted in Matthew 8:8 : "Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldst enter under my roof: but only say the word, and my servant shall be healed".
