Why the web-images are free to download this month

Last month, I was on a Marian retreat for five days. I wasn't thinking about work at all, but a thought came to me out of the blue to make all our web-quality images free (needless to say, I made a note of the inspiration and then didn't think about it the rest of the retreat. by the way, you should go on Marian retreat someday). I asked the boss about it after the retreat, he said yes, we talked some more about Kansas weather, the upcoming Shakespeare Festival, Irish tin whistles, and here we are.

At Restored Traditions, we don't create new art; we digitally restore the best art of Christendom and make the collection available online for anyone to use. In order to continue doing this, we exchange our creatively-constructed value for your money. In the case of giving away our collection of web-quality images for free this month, I truly believe we're accomplishing a higher end. We're missing out on some cash, but there's going to be much more uplifting artwork put into circulation. As a result of that, God will be glorified more and, hopefully, souls will be drawn closer to their salvation through the bride of Christ, the Catholic church.

So call us nuts, but all the small image files are free until October 1st. For you people who download this art, I personally ask that you propagate it as much as possible. Looney-tune or anime-inspired religious imagery is a waste of time, so use the art that has the depth of constitution to convert (if the art of Christ small children have looks like a cartoon, why would you ever expect the young ones to take their Faith seriously?).  Make these images your desktops, your phones' background images, your memorial card for Aunt Gertrude's funeral, your heading in a blog post. Take this art and plaster it anywhere you can, but please don't let it sit in an obscure and forgotten computer folder of all the free stuff you've downloaded since the Bush administration.

I conclude with a quote from St. Thomas More with regard to keeping good and beautiful things in front of you:

"Occupy your mind with good thoughts, or the enemy will fill them with bad ones" — St. Thomas More

Sir Thomas More, Martyr

Just missed the opportunity to download the free wed art! I am so bummed! Thank you for the opportunity though! Any chance it might happen again in the future? I have so many images that I would love to share with my friends, family, and like Terry, I teach CCD and would love to have those images to put in my classroom. Thanks again!!
